Slow Drift formed across the Atlantic Ocean by Oxford-based multi-instrumentalist and producer James Askwith and Canadian singer-songwriter Jenn Steeves. The project emerged from an exchange of audio files during lockdown - James would send electronic instrumental tracks to Jenn, who wrote lyrics and recorded vocals. Built around James' synth-based soundscapes and Jenn's vocal melodies, Slow Drift is a delicate blend of electronica and synth pop.

The duo have been featured on BBC Music Introducing, BBC Radio 6, Oxfordshire Music Scene and Nightshift Magazine. Their debut single ‘Oblivion’ was selected as #3 in the top 30 Oxford songs of 2021, by Nightshift Magazine; their second single 'Winter' made the top 20 in 2022. They made their live debut at Truck Festival in Oxfordshire in summer 2022 as part of the BBC Music Introducing lineup. Their self-titled debut EP, recorded at home across the UK, Canada and India, came out in 2022 and they are currently working on an album for release in summer 2023.
